Interested in screen printing but have no idea where to begin? You've come to the right place. In this 4 hour session, you'll be shown the whole process from start to finish...and come away with a snazzy 4 colour print to hang up in your home - or gift to someone awesome! You'll learn how to - - Coat a screen - Expose a stencil - Wash out your screen - Pull your image...entirely by yourself. We will also go through tips and tricks, from creating your image using halftones or vectors so it's ready to print onto acetate. You'll learn about layers and how to register your artwork so you get each print bang every time! We've got plenty of reference material to whet your whistle, and enough ink to shake a stick at! So why not book yourself onto something cool and learn a new skill today. -------------------- A bit about our tutors - Adam - Adam Hogarth is an artist and printmaker working at Thames-side Print Studio as a head screen printer and course tutor, he also teaches a variety of printmaking courses and day workshops at City Lit, London. Adam's work is multi-disciplinary. He is interested in notions of auto-destruction, often creating social commentaries entrenched in politics, art history, commercialisation, community, and popular-culture. His works can appear comically biting, cynical and sometimes cruel, yet at their core is humour, hope and bewilderment at the human condition. Alex - Alex Sowa is a pop artist and screen printer, and co-founder of The Art Haus. He works mainly in acrylic, creating satirical, tongue in cheek imagery that pokes fun at popular culture, taking inspiration from his years in the news industry and as a musician in an earlier life. Often erring on the side of pessimism and self destruction, his combination of jovial characters, bright colours and typography evoke a sense of playfulness and humour to connect his audience to the underlying darker tone to his work.
