Drypoint & Monoprint Workshop
Create your own prints in a deep blue hue using this fascinating technique
Class Description
Join Daisy Jarrett, artist and printmaker, for a three hour workshop where we will explore drypoint techniques combined with Monoprint and Chine Colle. Daisy will introduce you to the technique of drypoint, an intaglio printmaking process where a sharp tool is used to scratch marks into a plastic plate and a print is taken from ink which is held within the marks. We will combine drypoint with monoprint and Chine Colle (a technique where you place a thin Chinese or Japanese paper to the print at printing stage) to add different textures and layers of colour to your prints. You will come away with at least two A4 size prints! Daisy, an experience artist and printmaker has exhibited for many years and teaches printmaking in Richmond, bases herself London and Folkestone. Her work is first and foremost about women and the female experience, working in a quick expressive way, with a colourful palette creating dreamlike, often humorous portraits which are all unique.
